Emergency
Breathing Systems (HEED/HABD/SEA) Course
Aim:
To provide all aircrew traveling over water and supplied with a
compressed air supply system with the knowledge and skills necessary
to successfully egress from a ditched aircraft. This course utilizes
all types of compressed air supply systems including Helicopter
Emergency Egress Devices (HEEDS), Helicopter Aircrew Breathing Devices
(HABD), Survival Egress Air (SEA), and Short Term Air Supply Systems
(STASS). This program can be adapted for passengers.
Content:
This one-day course consists of both
classroom and practical sessions in our training tank including:
- HABD/HEEDS/SEA equipment characteristics
and use hazards
- Preflight inspection
- Use and clearing procedures
- Fill and basic maintenance of HABD/HEEDS/SEA
- Egress considerations
- Shallow Water Egress Trainer - SWET™
- *Helicopter underwater escape training using the Modular
Egress Training Simulator (METS™) *must have prior completion
of one-day Aircraft Ditching Course
