Land Survival Course

Aim:
This program is designed to provide downed aircrew and passengers with the knowledge and skills to care for themselves and others in a land survival situation, with a practical understanding of hazards, proper equipment, and applicable procedures.

Content:
This one day course consists of both classroom and outdoor training including:

• Survival psychology

• Survival pattern, hypothermia, hyperthermia

• Topography

• Equipment and clothing

• First aid/medical scenarios

• Shelters

• Signals

• Fire

• Food and water

• Travel - map, compass

• Bush lore
