This ENSA GWO module focuses on encouraging positive manual handling behavior, improved industrial ergonomics, and performing manual handling activities in a safe manner within the wind energy industry and environment. This is a certified GWO module through ENSA.

 

CONTENT:

Carrying out work duties in a safely and in accordance with legislative requirements
Job tasks that could increase workers' risks of developing muscular/skeletal injuries

Safe practice of Manual Handing, including the correct handling of equipment
Signs and symptoms of injuries related to poor Manual Handling techniques and methods of reporting
Problem-solving approach to Manual Handling in a wind turbine environment
Manual Handling risk reduction techniques

 

DURATION:

Four (4) Hours

 

LOCATION:

Survival Systems USA's Groton Training Center, CT or client site

 

AGE REQUIREMENTS:

Participants must be a minimum of 18 years of age for full participation and certification. Participants under the age of 18 require parental consent.

PREREQUISITES:

Participants are expected to be in a good state of health and physically capable of fully taking part in all course activities. Participants are subjected to rigorous activity. The working at heights program will include climbing up a ladder or side of tower, working at an elevated platform, and egressing from a height using rescue devices.

 

Students are required to bring work boots and a photo ID. All other equipment will be provided.

 

SCHEDULING:

Courses are scheduled on a rolling basis. Training calendar seats are booked on a first come, first serve basis.​

 

CERTIFICATION:

All participants who complete the program in accordance with the learning and performance objectives receive a course completion certificate and GWO (WINDA) credit.

 

ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS:

​This course comprises one of the four required ENSA GWO modules to complete the GWO 1005 Basic Safety Training Certification. Other courses within the GWO BST-1005 program include: Work at Height (WAH 1002), Fire Awareness (FAW 101), and Medic First Aid + Trauma at Height (FA2002).

PREREQUISITES:

Participants under the age of 18 require parental consent. Participants under the age of 12 may audit the course under the direct supervision of a guardian not involved in training.
