GWO Enhanced First Aid (EFA) Training​​

This GWO module enables participants working in a remote wind turbine environment to administer safe, effective, and immediate lifesaving measures using advanced emergency equipment and medical teleconsultation. GWO certified through ENSA.



• Risks/hazards/legislation

• Anatomy, injury, and illnesses

• Management of an incident and national emergency response

• Medical teleconsultation

• Enhanced first aid using primary and secondary survey

• Pain management and further possible medication

• Advanced first aid techniques



Initial (without valid basic FA or FAR certificate): Twenty-four (24) Hours | 3 Days

Initial (with valid basic FA or FAR certificate): Eight (8) Hours | 1 Day

Refresher: Sixteen (16) Hours | 2 Days

Participants must be a minimum of 18 years of age for full participation and certification. Participants under the age of 18 require parental consent.



Participants engage in rigorous activity and should be in a good state of health, physically capable of fully taking part in all course exercises.

Participants need work boots and a photo ID.  We provide all other equipment.


Valid GWO Basic First Aid (FA) or Basic First Aid Refresher (FAR) certificates are prerequisites for participation in the 1-day initial EFA. No academic prerequisites for the 3-day EFA module.



Book training calendar seats on a first-come, first-served basis.



All participants who complete the EFA program in accordance with the learning and performance objectives receive completion certificate(s) and GWO (WINDA) credit(s) (24-mo expiry).



​The EFA module teaches advanced lifesaving measures exceeding those of GWO FA 2002 Medic First Aid + Trauma.


Basic modules: GWO BST-1005 Program, Work at Height (WAH 1002), Manual Handling (MH 102), Medic First Aid + Trauma (FA 2002), Fire Awareness (FAW 101), Sea Survival (GWO SS), GWO Refreshers
